There will be a spectacular flower festival at St Swithun's from 10 Thursday-Sunday 13th of July. Please make a diary note.
The theme of the festival will be "Rain or Shine". Expert flower arrangers, keen amateurs and children will be putting their best efforts in to ensure that this is the most spectacular flower festival that East Grinstead has seen. We hope that the festival will bring in many visitors to the church.
We hope that we will cover the considerable costs by an entry fee but we are also hoping that individual arrangements will be sponsored. All the proceeds will go to the Church and the Restoration Trust.
An appeal will be going out to local businesses and organisations during the next few weeks but in the mean time members of the congregation have asked if it would be possible for them to sponsor an arrangement, perhaps in memory of a loved one or a special anniversary.
Sponsoring the largest arrangements will be £100 and the regular sized arrangements £50. A name plate with the your message or the name of a loved one will appear adjacent to the arrangement. If you would like to contribute £25 or less then please put your donation and message in an envelope addressed to the Flower Festival Committee at the Parish office or give it to the Vicar / Churchwardens. These will be displayed in a separate Sponsor's Book showing your name and message – the amount of the donation will be confidential.

The Social Committee is planning to hold a Table Top Sale on Saturday, 24th May 9.30 am - 12 noon in the Church Hall. The price for hiring a table top is £8.00, proceeds from sale of goods is retained by the hirer. No second-hand electrical goods , foodstuffs or alcohol can be sold. The hirer is responsible for selling their own products and for removing all left over items following the sale. So if you wish to recycle any of those children's toys, sell some of your novels or excess plants etc. it is a wonderful opportunity.
